GROUP DISCUSION ABOUT BIOTECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE:

We have been attending to a presentation of Ángel Cebolla, an important scientific and businessman. He is the Cofounder of Ingeniatrics Tecnologias, as well as the cofounder of the ‘Asociación de Empresas Biotecnológicas de Andalucía (Bioandalucía)’. He has experience as researcher and doctor in Madrid, Seville, France, and even in Germany.  

Biotechnology us the application of science and engineering to life. The direct or indirect use of the organism, natural or modified for the production of services for industries procedure  improvements.  Depending on the tools and applications, it often overlaps with the (related) fields of bioengineering, biomedical engineering, etc. Biotechnology has been present since a long time ago, since the first antibiotics!! 

Biotechnology gives us the application of science and engineering to life. The direct or indirect use of the organism, natural or modified for the production of services for industries procedure improvements.

Companies, their objective is the identification and satisfaction of consumers necessities within a reasonable price for the organisation.

• MARKET: consumers able to buy products and services. Evolution of offer and claim of a determined economic sector. WE all belong to the MARKET.
• In BIOTEECHNOLOGY, sometimes the small bit, is much better than the big thing, 'the small one eat the big one'.
• BIOTECHNOLOGY, has application to antibodies in investigations and diagnostics.

SCIENCE-TECHNOLOGY OF PRODUCTION-MARKET

Biotechnology is the application of science engineering in the direct or indirect use of living organisms or parts of them in their natural or modified for the production of goods and services or to improve industrial processes forms.

• We can find: Antibodies, tRNA and viruses but antibodies are the proteins that move more more in the market.

Companies aim is to identify and meet customer with  profitably for the organization.

The drugs can cost 1,152,261 dollars. In fact, This proteins will Have a higher cost than importants companies in Seville. We also have millions of natural drugs in our body to remove potentially pathogenic agents.

How does biotechnology develop? The first time biotechnology was practiced was 10.000 years ago, through agriculture and stockbreeding. Later on,  biotechnology has been developing: with the transformation and conservation of food, the production of antibiotics and vaccines (s.XX), the invention of transgenics and the regenerative medicine (s.XXI).

Biotechnology has always been present in our lives!

As an example of biotechnology we are going to talk about the case of Leo Messi, the actual best football player in the world. With 11 years, his size was of 1.32, so he decided to introduce hormones in his body, with the objective of growing quicker. This medicine costs 1000 dollars per month, so the club where he was playing told him that they weren't going to pay him the medicine. FC.Barcelona saw him play, and they thought that he was going to be a very good football player, so they pay him the medicine. Messi now is the best football player in the world, and one of the best in the hole story.
