Panel 7: GOVERNANCE

GLOBAL GRAND CHALLENGE: Governance

D. Manuel Gracia Navarro;
  • The governance must be participative in this globalized world.
  • To have influence in the decisions of the state, we, as citizens, need to have all the posible information we can, so that we can have consistent arguments.
  • Governance has to be based on equality.
  • Governance is a crucial theme, because we live in an extremly complex world. A globalised world.
  • Transparent governance, means that it has to be transparent, what means that everyone should have acces to it, to take part in taking important decisions. (Main problema)

D. José Manuel Cervera Gragera;

  • There's an antagonism between the evolution of tecnology and the evolution of the governance.
  • Contradiction: institutions are been delayed when it comes to current situation. Everyone is affected by a worldwide fraud. The cause of this fraud is greed. There is no international isntitution that can stop it. The distance that pulls apart, tecnology and goverment evolution. However goverment institutions follow century XIX's models, anticorruption (antitransparence reach by everyone). 40% of Spanish richness are administrated by the goverment, from which most of them don't reach us (distance between citizens and goverment)

Dña. Mª Cruz Arcos Vargas;

  • Governance refers to "all processes of governing, whether undertaken by a government, market or network, whether over a family.
  • Governance, relatively noveodus term, previously we could anly talk about goverment, in which democratic countries takes part, the  it moved on to business.

D. Javier Cuenca Villén;

  • We need less boundaries, and more wide governments.
  • Save the children, includes childhood and teeanage. This has an impotant role, because this NGO has influence capacity in the ones who makes importante decisions of this issue.
